Last week we looked at some folks in the Bible that missed Jesus even though he was right there with them. Many times our wrong expectations of how God might work keeps us from seeing what he is up to. He doesn’t always do things the way that we prefer or stay in the “box” that we want to put him in.

But he’s not random. God has a divine nature and he always acts out of who he is. For example, we know that God is love and he is good. Through the Bible and the Holy Spirit, we can learn what he is like. We can learn to better anticipate what he is up to because we can know his heart and his ways.

Before Jesus went to the cross, he told his disciples, “I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15 NIV). Not only does he call us friends, but he lets us know what he is doing- but it’s not obvious, and it takes time. We learn the ways of God by spending time with him and his word.

In other words, we don’t have to worry about missing Jesus. The key is to keep seeking! Matthew 7:8 tells us that “those who seek, find.”

WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MISSING JESUS- JUST KEEP SEEKING!

Jesus’ death and resurrection is unexpected, but when you know how much he loves us, it’s so like him! Take time this Easter to reflect on how he has shown his love for you. You are invited to know him more. Seek the Lord and keep seeking!
